Gmail J2ME client available internationally
Today we launched the Gmail for Mobile J2ME application in Spanish, French, German, Italian and UK English. So if you are a Gmail user in any of those languages you can now get the app by going to gmail.com/app or googlemail.com/app in your phone browser. Let me know if you have any problems.
Also, you can now sign up for Gmail or Google Mail without an invitation.

Is there any plan to get the Gmail J2ME working for google apps domains?

Hi Ran, yes, we launched this a couple of months ago. Although at present we only have the Gmail client for Google Apps available for Blackberry devices. You can get it by going to http://m.google.com/a on your Blackberry.

Are there any plans to update the “Gmail client” J2ME for regular cell phones (not just Blackberry) for use with Google Apps?

I find it really annoying how the people using Google Apps continually get the shaft. Features take forever to be ported from gmail to Google Apps, J2ME applications that exist for GMail don’t for Google Apps, etc.
C’mon! Unify, man!

Anything in particular that you are missing? The J2ME client for Google Apps was launched in December. http://m.google.com/a

I think what Otto is referring to (which I can second entirely):
Google Apps and the regular “Google” are totally separate when it comes to authentication and this is really annoying!
I would rather use iGoogle than the “startpage” feature of Apps, because iGoogle supports theming and some other things. Same goes for those servivces that have not yet been ported to Apps.
Now, you still have to create a separate regular “google account” for those services, even if you want to use your own domain e-mail address, which should already be on an authentication server of Google.
Another annoying thing: When your users want to access their calendar and they happen to try this through the regular google site, they discover they don’t have an account, get confused and try to create one, just to discover again that it itsn’t the same as their calendar they have through Google apps.
Why not just let Google Apps users also authenticate for the regular Google services?

Oh, I forgot to comment:
Further, I think Google Apps really is one heck of a cool thing. I am most pleased with the complete e-mail management function and just to have the quality of service of gmail for my own domain. It would only be so nice if it was more unified through the regular Google services.
